Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins is an Mexican American journalist. She is currently an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN who is also an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from when she was nine years old. This ability that allowed her to get her first job as an Univision Production Assistant in Miami. There, she was a producer for television shows that were national, like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then she was promoted to a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. In 2009 she moved in Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Reporting on stories about the issue of immigration and drug trafficking from both sides of the Texas-Mexico border, she served as an anchor for newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of anchoring the 9 p.m. newscast in English as well as an anchor for the at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. In addition, she was frequently called upon to be a weather and sports anchor. Later, she was anchor and reporter on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was host of her own local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. The show was commissioned as a anchor of the sports program for Despierta America Deportes for their morning show. She served in the same role on the magazine program of the network Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they were moved to Mexico City where she was born on 22 November 1985. She's more mature than her younger sister. In 1992, the family relocated to Miami after moving to Mexico into the US. In 1992, the couple divorced and shortly afterward in 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer in the naval sector who passed away in the year 2006 due to kidney cancer. In June of 2006, she spent a week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed at the time. Antonietta was a senior high school student, but she had a clear idea of what she wanted to do in her future career. She went to Mount Union University in order to find out if the school was suitable for her. Then she was enthralled with the university. They also offered her a an academic major. Her high school graduation was in the spring of 2004 and began studying media at the college. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a member of her class, formed a lasting relationship with her. The professor encouraged her to be confident and was greatly moved by his love of journalism.
